GOTO GOSUB I was undecided about what to choose for my favourite track - It's either "Women Of A Certain Age" or "That Disco Beat", so I went for the latter as it was this track that specifically caught my attention while listening to the Luxxury feature on the Beyond Synth podcast, ep. 198. Favorite track: That Disco Beat.

madopal The Baron deserves all of the accolades of his title, and I like to think of him sitting in a castle in LA, waiting for his other birds of prey to bring him women and fine accessories, surrounded by vintage 80s recording equipment. Also, Terry Richardson is the song with the biggest disconnect between lyrics & upbeat song since Girlfriend in a Coma. Favorite track: Terry Richardson.

Couldn't sleep through the night. I could feel something wasn't right. She said we'd be together: "No matter what I do, I'll be with you." She was where I could see. In her hand was a note for me. "There's nothing left to live for, so what am I to do? And I'll miss you." Going down to the sea. When I drown, feel you next to me. There's nothing left to live for so what am I to do? Lost without you. Don't wanna live forever, so what are we to do? I'll be with you. You and me we're in ecstasy; flying high in perfect harmony. There's nothing left to live for, so what are we to do? Now I'm with you.

Is this the last seduction? Is this the end of everything you hold dear? Is this the last seduction? Is this the end of every thing you've come to fear? I didn't expect to get involved tonight. But if we get closer I might be headed for destruction. The end of a successful gigolo career. Those days are gone but you're still holding on. Those days are gone but you're still holding on. One last seduction then I'm gone. Is this the last corruption? One more kiss and then I'll make you disappear. One last night of freedom before I make monogomy my new career. "Don't, don't look back." I know I sound ironic but I'm being sincere. So it's the last seduction until we meet again the same time next year. Those days are gone but you're still holding on. Those days are gone but you're still holding on. Wondering what is to be done with all the memories: where do they belong? Those days are gone but you're still holding on. Those days are gone you should be moving on And you were dead wrong.

Hey girl, you're something special; Are you in the mood to share? Think you've got potential and summer lust is in the air. Come let me take some pictures. Maybe give your friends a call? You'll have fun and make some money. No one needs to know to at all. Ooh woah. You're in control. Ooh no. Ready to become a woman? Take me to the top, don't ever stop takin me higher now. Cuz I want some; she's much too young. Take me to the top don't ever stop, show me your softer side. Cuz I'm the one. Terry Richardson. Her eyes on fire, a modern vision; She agrees to take a ride. I talk - she barely listens; Pretty soon she'll come alive. The lights low, she's in soft focus; She'll have a few more sedatives. I'll have whatever comes next And then I'll burn the negatives.

I love you all more than you'll ever know. I love you all and I'm ready to go. It's not as bad as it seems because I almost had everything in my dreams. I can't stand the pain it's driving me insane I need you to explain because I'm Tired of feeling pushed around, tired of being so let down. Tired of waiting in turnaround so if you need her Alice is going back underground. I love you all but it's taking too long. I can't waste my time wondering if I was wrong. You just get so tired sometimes. Every moment waiting for the phone to ring; every day waiting what tomorrow will bring. I'm not giving up I'm just giving in. Goodbye. I just want to know so deal me the final blow Tell me now because I'm getting Tired of feeling gagged and bound, tired of being so let down. Tired of waiting in turnaround so if you need her Alice is going back underground. Tired of feeling pushed around, tired of being so let down. Tired of wondering are we a "go"? If not it'd be nice to know. Tired of feeling gagged and bound, tired of being so let down. Tired of waiting in turnaround, so if you need me Alice is going back underground.

I think you planned your escape because you refused to go down in flames. Just slip away in a dream and let the fog envelop you in sleep. You left me thousands of clues. I see one every time that I read the news. Listening to backwards melodies. A sound that echoes through the centuries. Time it slips away. I think about you every day. And you stay the same age as I get old. Was everything in vain or would it all have happened just the same? A cool kiss to smooth away the fears and soon enough it all will disappear. And at the end of the final reel the camera pulls away and slowly it reveals it was his sled all along. And now I know you can't be dead and gone. Time it slips away. I think about you every day. And you stay the same age as I get old. Left in disarray as I watch you fade away. There's nothing I can say, I just feel cold. Time it slips away. I think about you every day. And you stay the same age as I get old.

Can you hear me, baby? I can't hear you. Can you see me, baby? I can't see you. Lost in the crowd. Only thing I can make out is that disco beat. I'm lost in the crowd Only thing left for me now is to move my feet. Can you hear me now all thru the crowd? The sound of music's drowning me out. Can you see me now across the town? The music's making me want to shout. Can you hear me, baby? I can't hear you. Can you see me, baby? I can't see you.

Standing on a rooftop smoking cigarettes with Laura who is crazy and a little drunk. She dances with another girl and they start making out as women of a certain age quite often do. Hey do you want to? Are you allowed? Cuz if you want to we can get down. Don't pretend that you're ambivalent. It turns you on. Don't act so innocent. A hundred disco summers promised by the LA night. A thousand disco bummers underneath a neon sky. Not looking for love, not hard to impress; Too rich for her blood but she's expensive nonetheless. Hey do you want to? Are you allowed? Don't pretend that you're ambivalent. It turns you on. Don't act so innocent. Cuz no one can say where the night will go; Better move fast cuz you never know. Don't fall in love. Don't act so innocent. Act your age, replay the incident. Mistakes were made. Don't act so innocent. Cuz no one can say where the night will go; Better move fast cuz you never know. Don't fall in love. Don't act so innocent.

PDX princess comes from outer space. She's come for the kids to make a master race. All the beautiful outsiders lost inside her synthesizers; Tangled in her twisted wires while the beat vibrates. Glass Candy takes me away. Glass Candy saves the day. Glass Candy toute la soirée. Glass Candy I'll be okay. When all the pressure starts to make you feel insane Then the beat of her heart of glass will medicate the pain. All her beautiful admirers lost inside her synthesizers; All your dreams and your desires watch her devastate. Glass Candy takes me away. Glass Candy saves the day. Glass Candy un coeur brisé. Glass Candy I'll be okay. Glass Candy takes me away. Glass Candy saves the day. Glass Candy joue la DJ. Glass Candy I'll be okay.

I can tell what you think. Your quiet eyes reveal everything inside. Don't ask me what I drink, cuz at the moment I've got everything to hide. Promiscuous tone. You better leave me alone. I've got mixed feelings and temperature surges. You can't fight the uncontrollable urge. An unflattering picture emerges. Don't get mad I led you astray. You make me a little bit nervous, and there are things I need to preserve. If I'm acting blasé its just a display. I'm not bad, I'm just drawn that way. Such a direct overture, nothing is left to the imagination. Flattering to be sure but somehow I seem to give the wrong impression. I've got too much to lose. Don't make me an offer that I can't refuse. I've got mixed feelings and temperature surges. You can't fight the uncontrollable urge. An unflattering picture emerges. I just try to avoid cliché. You make me a little bit nervous, I didn't mean to throw you a curve. It's a game that I play not the real me per se. I'm not bad, I'm just drawn that way.

about

LUXXURY Los Angeles, California

LUXXURY (Kitsuné, Future Disco, Boogie Angst, Eskimo) makes dance music for adults. Raw, funky bass-lines plucked with grown- man finesse. A mastery of synth native only to those who lived through the late '70s/early '80s. Dust in the glitter that vibrates in the space between string stabs and guitar jabs while the steady pulse and astral effects are beamed in from a cybernetic future Los Angeles. ... more
